The way we do things has changed Brakur-_Technology_in_the_Kitchendrastically over the last 10 years.  We have become technologically dependent.  We are used to having what we want at our fingertips.  We don’t even have to leave the comfort of our own home to shop.  Kitchens are no different and are following that trend.  With technology changing so rapidly what can you include in your kitchen update that will allow you to be prepared for the future and not get left in the past?

Things to Consider in Your Kitchen Design

  • Induction Cooking - As the world looks for ways to save our resources such as gas, people are looking towards induction cook tops.  They are more energy efficient and safer since there is no direct heat.  They use electromagnets inside the cooktop to create a magnetic field between the stovetop and stainless steel cookware.  It is the magnetic field that causes the heat to be transferred to the cookware.  Not to mention they look great as well
  • Wireless Connectivity – Many of us have wireless Internet in our homes, but one wave of future kitchens is small wireless appliances and connectivity to mobile devices.  Dupont is currently developing a Corian countertop that could hide a Powermat wireless charging station.
  • Smart Cabinets – A new trend is having a designated cabinet or drawer where people can plug in their ever-expanding devices to charge.  It also helps alleviate the clutter on the counters.
  • Mounted Tablet or iPad in Kitchen - You can either build in your tablet into the cabinet workspace in your kitchen, or use many creative mounts to have them anywhere (under the cabinet, on the fridge, etc.).  Gone are the days of the bulky cookbooks taking up your space.  Many people are using their iPads or tablets to store their recipes and keep inventory.  If you need that favorite recipe you can have it right there at your fingertips.  If you notice you are getting low on something you can quickly add it to your shopping list with a touch of the finger.  Using this technology allows you to multitask while you are working.  You can cook in the kitchen and send off that important email to work.
  • Smart Appliances - Make sure you take the time to look at what new appliances you want to include in your remodel.  Many appliances today do most of the work for you.  We want your kitchen to be able to function and work for you the best way possible.  We can help you to integrate these into your design so they become a part of your kitchen and blend in with the woodwork
