Know what to expect from your remodelHome remodeling is one of the best investments you can make, but depending on the scope of your project, there can be quite a bit involved. In part 1 of this post, we went over things you can do to get started on your remodel, and who will be involved in your project (aside from you and any other decision maker in your household).

After gathering all of your ideas, defining your budget and finding professionals you can trust, it’s time to get to work creating the kitchen, bathroom or other home remodeling project of your dreams.

What’s the whole process?

While every remodeling expert has their own process (which usually consists of measuring, designing, ordering and maybe installing), our team at Brakur does everything in-house, including crafting your custom cabinets in our on-site factory.

  • When you’re ready with your initial ideas, we’ll meet with you during a complimentary in-home consultation, or you can visit our showroom so we can get to know all about you and your project and answer any questions you may have.
  • From there, our skilled designers will use all of the details you provide, from your ideas to blueprints or a verbal description of your space, and combine it with their understanding to come up with your initial design – either a hand drawing or a 3D rendering.
  • If you decide to work with our team and accept the proposal, your salesperson will come out and measure your actual space to make sure everything is ordered to the proper dimensions.
  • With accurate measurements and a clear understanding of your needs and wants, your designer will be then be able to work with you in our showroom to craft your final detailed design – complete with style, finishes, hardware and accessories. All details of your project will be discussed at this phase – from timing to delivery options – until you are completely satisfied with everything.
  • Your designer will officially pull everything together in a document to ensure there are no surprises, verifying a mutual understanding. Then it’s time to make it happen.
  • Once your design is ordered, our craftsmen work their magic to bring your ideas to life, creating your custom cabinetry or furniture.
  • If you purchase the optional installation agreement, our factory trained cabinet technicians will install all cabinets and components up to your standards.
  • The final step is then for a member of our service team to ensure quality and make adjustments as needed.

What is the timeline?

Unfortunately, all projects vary widely; so there is no set time amount that we can accurately list here. Remodeling projects can take anywhere from a few weeks to months, depending on the scope of the project and the condition of your existing space. Your representative will work closely with you to create a timeline that works for everyone involved, and the team will do their best to stick to that timeline.

Our team at Brakur has been working with clients since 1965, and our sole goal is to make you happy with designs and skillfully crafted products. If you have any questions regarding what to expect during your remodel, contact our team and we’ll be happy to give you answers.\
