![brakur_entertaining_in_kitchen](https://blog.brakur.com/hs-fs/hubfs/brakur_entertaining_in_kitchen.jpg?width=279&name=brakur_entertaining_in_kitchen.jpg)Many people today use kitchens not only to cook in, but they have become a part of our entertaining space.  If you are a homeowner who loves to entertain then you will want to include certain features in you kitchen layout that will allow you to interact with your guests.  You can still be a part of the action and not miss out on the fun!  

Don’t let the size of your kitchen limit you.  There are other alternatives that can be included such as a butler’s pantry or knocking down a wall for an open layout that will give you more flexibility.  The important thing is to include those features in your custom kitchen design that will make entertaining your guests easier.

# Features to Include

- **Point of service refrigeration** – You will want some refrigerator drawers and possibly a wine cooler.  It makes it easier for both guests and the host to have access to the food and beverages.
- **Warming drawers** - There is nothing worse than getting all the food cooked and it goes cold. This will keep your food warm and perfect for serving.
- **Double ovens**-Many food items have to be cooked at different temperatures. This allows you to cook more than one thing at the same time.  It will also save on your sanity. You will wonder how you ever survived without them.
- **Double dishwashers** - Some homeowners may think this frivolous, but paper is not always ideal and sure makes the clean up a lot easier.
- **Raised countertops** - Having a higher side not only gives guests a place to gather, but also a space to serve from. This works really well if you have room for an island. You may also consider [using more than one countertop materia](https://blog.brakur.com/blog/using-more-than-one-countertop-material-in-your-chicagoland-kitchen-remodel)l in the kitchen.
- **Built in beverage station** – Get that gourmet coffee and drinks without going to the café.  You may even consider [bringing a little café into your kitchen design.](https://blog.brakur.com/blog/bringing-the-caf%C3%A9-into-your-chicagoland-kitchen-remodel)
