brakurmediterraneankitchenIf you want a room in the home that will give you a perfect escape you may want to consider the Mediterranean kitchen style for your Chicagoland kitchen remodel. This style is full of warmth, ornate decoration, and is full of personality. Many designers compare this style the feeling of being in the warmth of the sun on a sandy beach. It is cozy, warm, and inviting.

There are so many options when choosing this style. You can opt for a more Tuscan inspired look with warm wood tones or bright two toned cabinets. No two Mediterranean kitchens look alike. For most individuals either you absolutely love this style or you don’t. It is not for everyone.

Elements of a Mediterranean Kitchen

  • Rich warm colors such as yellow, terra cotta, blue, and red
  • Hand painted tile work
  • Rustic lighting
  • Metal accents such as wrought iron
  • Use of sweeping curves
  • Textured walls such as stucco
  • Exposed ceiling beams
  • Darker wood tones
