Brakur_-_Seamless_backsplash_1As our lives tend to get busier homeowners are looking for durability, simplicity, and ease of cleaning in the kitchen.  They are forgoing their higher maintenance surfaces such as tile with grout and choosing a seamless look for backsplashes.  Many homeowners today want an uncluttered look that is easy to wipe down and keep clean.  There are a variety of different materials that homeowners have to choose from when opting for a seamless backsplash.

Backsplash Materials

Natural stone – There are many different materials such as quartz, granite, and marble, or limestone.  They are durable and hold up well over time. You can coordinate your countertop with the same material or use a pattern for a contrast.

Glass Sheets - You can add a color behind the wall giving you a variety of options.  You can even use a textured wallpaper or faux finish. Some homeowners have placed a textile fabric behind the glass. The possibilities are endless.

Laminate - While the plastic laminate is still available there are some new popular metal laminates that come in a variety of designs and colors.

Porcelain – Can be purchased in a sheet form.  It has the look of stone and comes in an array of patterns.

Stainless Steel - Gives a sleek look, however just like appliances will require more upkeep than some of the other materials.

You can take each of these materials all the way up the wall with no seam lines or just a few depending on the size of the wall.  Each of these backsplashes will work well in any style of kitchen. Seamless backsplashes are not just limited to contemporary kitchens.  They can be used in any style of kitchen.  For more seamless backsplash ideas and pictures click here
