Often thought of as the last step in the design process, adding finishing touches to your kitchen needs to be addressed throughout the entire design process. Because of the incorporation into the final look, speaking with your designer throughout your process will ensure that you get the right finishing touches on your cabinetry. Finishing touches like corbels, moldings and finished panels can make your space feel luxurious, which is exactly why you chose to remodel, right?
Corbel Supports
Corbel supports are a wonderful accent piece to the overall look of the kitchen. Additionally, they are not only for the finished look, they are functional in the sense that they provide support to extended countertops. Corbel supports can also be added to wall mounted shelving, giving more support (go figure) and a polished look.
Crown Moldings
As stated by the name, crown moldings are the finishing touch on the top of a cabinet (acting as the crown) and can really bring a space together. If you have lower ceilings in your home, molding is perfect to close the gap between the top of the cabinetry and the ceiling. On the other hand, if you have high ceilings, moldings add a visual element that draws the eye upward. Molding can also be used on the bottom of wall cabinets to create a finished cap for under mounted lighting as well.
Finished Panels
Decorative panels can truly add that feeling of elegance. Giving a space the final touch of completion, finished panels are always a great addition to your home. To add texture to the kitchen, consider v-groove panels or fluted fillers to pull the space together.
There are many different way to add decorative touches to your space. With a little help from your designer, you can create a room that feels like every detail was accounted for and it is quite luxurious.
