When it comes to cabinetry, quality will vary from one manufacturer to another – and even one line to another. They are not all created equally. That’s why it is important to take time to learn about each product line you consider – to ensure you’re receiving the best quality for your money.
At Brakur, we believe in making quality lasting products, which is why we construct each cabinet door and drawer with precision, quality materials and care.
Door construction
If quality and lastability is what you’re after, note that each of our door options are crafted from the finest in raw materials. Brakur only purchases “select and better” lumber from our mills. Here’s what you can be sure of when it comes to our door construction:
Cope N’Stick: Our cope n’ stick doors are manufactured with state of the art computer controlled equipment, which inserts the dowels accurately in every joint. The utilization of technology to aid in the construction ensures the doors produced have the tightest overall construction.
Mitered Door: Out mitered doors utilize mortise and tenon construction, a method that has been used by woodworkers for thousands of years to join pieces of wood. The tenon (a rail/projection) is made to fit exactly into a mortise (hole/cavity) for a tight fit and sturdy construction. We use computer controlled machinery for precision in creating these doors, which allows us to control depth of the mortise and the length of the tenon to create the strongest, most efficient mitered joints.
Drawer Options
Box construction: Each drawer we create is made to last featuring a solid wood 5/8” drawer box with a UV oven cured finish and high end dovetail joinery. The standard wood used in the drawer construction is Aspen, but another popular option is our maple dovetailed drawer box. Standard bottoms consist of plywood with a ¼” UV cured finish which is dadoed into the drawer box on all four sides.
Drawer Glides: Each drawer has a variety of options when it comes to glides, including full access self or soft closing guides. These options come in handy when you want to get a view of everything in your drawers and when you’re tired of hearing the drawers slam (great when you have kids).
