Brakurclassic1If you are looking for a kitchen style that is both timeless and flexible you may want to consider the classic style.  Sometimes with all the different kitchen styles to choose from it can be a little overwhelming.  The great thing about a classic kitchen is they are simple, but also allow you to create your own individual look.  There are some similar features in a classic style of kitchen that may appeal to you and can be found in other styles of kitchen.  In most styles there is some overlap.  So what elements make a kitchen classic?

Elements of a Classic Kitchen

  • Simple door styles such as shaker and flat panel
  • Typically white or cream cabinets, but can be black or stained
  • Neutral color palettes
  • Simple accents and less ornate
  • Subway tile backsplashes
  • Furniture style toe kicks and crown molding
  • White marble or black countertops
  • Hardwood floors
  • Modern touches such as industrial appliances or lighting
