The reason you will want to keep up with them if you’re thinking about remodeling is that you’ll want to know what’s **HOT** and what’s **NOT**. ESPECIALLY if you’re remodeling to sell at some point in the near future.

## **Why Do People Remodel?**

The study shows that look, feel and function are the top buzz words that motivate people in a remodel, followed by the need to upgrade appliances and improve storage.

## Bigger or More Open?

A large majority of those studied (**77%**) went for **"open" kitchens** where they were open to adjoining rooms.

Part of that openness gets filled with another majority (**61%**) putting a **kitchen island** in.
