When looking at kitchen trends for 2015 we notice homeowners are choosing brighter and bolder colors. While white stills remains the number one custom cabinet color, we are also seeing a lot of gray and other colored cabinets as well. Homeowners are moving away from the traditional and choosing a colored cabinet with more neutral wall tones or a more neutral custom cabinet finish with accents of color. Today’s kitchen designers have noticed colors being used in a variety of new and innovative ways.
So what are some of the more popular modern colors? Blue, yellow, green, and coral seem to be making the biggest splash in today’s kitchens. Homeowners are less afraid of the bolder and brighter colors and we are even seeing hues of yellow with a neon look and royal blue. Coral seems to be one of the more popular colors that is being integrated throughout the home.
When it comes to choosing a colored cabinet you will want to talk to your kitchen designer about the different options you have for a painted cabinet. One important question you should ask yourself is will I still love it in 5 years? You might consider using that brighter bolder color as an accent wall instead of the color of your cabinets. Or you can use it as an island and have a two-toned cabinet finish which looks really sharp.
At Brakur Custom Cabinetry we have a partnership with Sherwin-Williams. We offer a large variety of finishes, paints and stains. Our multi-step finishing process creates a beautiful and durable finish that will last for years to come.
