Two heads are better than one in many cases; but two butting heads will cause headaches. When it comes to remodeling, it can be tough to make your own choices, let alone taking into account those wishes of your significant other. What if you both want different things?
Look for common ground
For starters, it is important to be open with each other and to make sure both decision makers are present for each important meeting with your designer. The more your designer knows, the better able he/she will be able to find a middle ground that works for both parties involved.
To get through a remodel without ill-feelings, you’ll both need to understand that compromises will likely have to be made on both sides. Sometimes it is best to start on a smaller project and then work your way to a full-on remodel.
