When most people think of designing an energy efficient kitchen they automatically assume we are talking about appliances, water saving faucets, and light fixtures. While those are all important things to consider and should be included in your energy efficient kitchen remodel, it is also important to consider the cabinets you choose to put in your Chicagoland kitchen remodel. Many people underestimate the value of using a cabinet company that makes a product that is ecofriendly.
Tips for Designing an Energy Efficient Kitchen
- Choose Sustainable Materials - All of our products we use meet or exceed Kitchen Cabinet Manufactures Association’s green standard. The lumber we use is purchased from mills that follow sustainable forestry practices. Click here to learn more about our ecofriendly products.
- Choose products that are durable and low maintenance - We want to consider the amount of energy it takes to use a product and find those that don’t require too much extra energy.
- Look for a company that has a low HAPS (hazardous air pollutants) - 75% of our products are finished locally drastically reducing air emissions. We also use adhesives that are water based and emit not HAPS. Our raw materials are purchased locally, reducing the transportation and energy emissions
