When the economy fell a few years back, people were forced to look at life differently; to whittle out the wants from the needs, and to make more careful decisions.
This applied in all areas of life – and remodeling took a hit.
Making changes this year
Remodeling is back on the upswing this year, and the predicted trends are not all surprising, given the struggles that were overcome.
People have cut back in all areas of life, and for many, this change proved to be liberating. They’ve realized that they can often do more with less, which is why this year's Modern kitchen trend is a fitting one. Simple lines, blended appliances and minimal details keep kitchens looking clean and refined.
Vibrant colors throughout the home will be a way for people to put some fun back into their lives. Now that the dark days are looking brighter, oranges, yellows, bright greens and reds will be refreshing updates.
Bathroom remodels also took a hit in recent years, and people will be making up for it by treating themselves and their loved ones with resort-like features (including multiple shower heads, heated floors, neutral colors and glass details). After years of stress, you deserve it.
