Some of the best parties can happen in the kitchen. 

If your kitchen seems to not be as social as you would like there are some things you can do with your kitchen design to make it more social. There is no need for you to be stuck in the kitchen cooking and cleaning while the party takes place somewhere else because there isn’t room or it is not inviting to your guests.

# Tips for a More Social Kitchen

1. **Clear the clutter** – It is easy for the kitchen to quickly become a dumping ground. From homework to paying bills to the everyday activities the clutter can quickly build up. 1. **Light up your kitchen **– Too often kitchens don’t have enough light. You want it to be bright and inviting. If it is an evening dinner party you might consider putting dimmers on your lights. Have more than one light source.

1. **Open up to the outdoors **– Take advantage of the outside views and if possible have your kitchen open up to an outdoor living area.
