The great thing about a traditional kitchen is they never seem to go out of style.Traditional kitchens can also be contemporary but are classic and full of detail. It’s important to not confuse them with country or Old World. Traditional kitchens today have a warm and inviting look.  Some traditional kitchens can be a little bit eclectic. They might have rustic touches but also include the high end cabinetry and countertops.  

When it comes to designing a transitional kitchen you are blending the old with the new. It has elements of both a contemporary and traditional kitchen. Transitional kitchen styles are flexible and don’t limit you. You could say that this style of kitchen ignores the rules. When it comes to matching different home styles it can fit in almost every home. Currently this type of kitchen style is ranked number 1 according to the National Kitchen and Bath Association, just squeaking by the traditional kitchen. This can be attributed to its universal style and appeal. It is both inviting and yet elegant.  

When talking about contemporary and modern kitchens those two terms are often used interchangeably. However, this is not entirely correct. When we are talking about kitchen styles that are contemporary we mean a style that is the current trend. They include kitchens that are at the forefront of technology and design.  Some contemporary kitchens can be modern, but include other styles of kitchens as well.
