3. Add bookshelves - It adds character and style to your kitchen. For those with an open floor plan it will just bring the living room into the kitchen.
4. Utilize storage options - There is a wide variety of storage options.  Storage is one thing we never seem to have enough of.Who said you can’t store things besides dishes and pots in the kitchen? Plus you will have places to organize and keep the clutter off the countertops that usually builds up.
5. Hide your appliances - Using appliance panels to hide your kitchen appliances is a subtle and simple way to make your kitchen stand out.
6. Install smaller appliances-  No need to spend thousands on appliances you rarely use. You might opt for a smaller stove for warming or maybe including some warming drawers. You can forgo the bulky fridge and opt for fridge and freezer drawers as well. Take the extra money you would use on expensive appliances and get some upgrades that are worth doing and will give you a return on your investment.
7. Create a fun seating nook - Having a place to congregate and hang out always is fun.  Even better if you go for a restaurant style booth you can use cabinets for the seating for extra storage.
